How to Get Rid of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids exhibit a number of unpleasant symptoms, typical for varicose dilation of the venous plexus. As a result, the walls of the vessels in the rectum thin and this leads to various complications.
Pathological changes lead to:

  • thrombosis;
  • phlebitis (inflammation of the vein and the surrounding tissues);
  • excessive hemorrhoid bleeding;
  • acute pain;
  • constipation.

A person can suspect that they have hemorrhoids from the above listed symptoms, especially when it comes to external hemorrhoids. All in all, there are 4 stages of hemorrhoids. The final diagnosis can be established only after a proctology examination.
Hemorrhoids can occur for different reasons. People usually seek medical help only when the case is advanced.
Early symptoms can be reduced, or even completely treated, if the patient follows the doctor’s orders and recommendations, otherwise there is a chance of recurrence of hemorrhoids.

How to Get Rid of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids cannot completely be removed naturally – the only option is surgical treatment. But such unpleasant symptoms of hemorrhoids as pain, inflammation and bleeding can be treated at home.
Before taking up any of the suggested treatments, consult your physician! Self-treatment can be harmful and lead to serious complications.
Preventive and non-surgical treatment include:

  • Diet.
  • Regular physical activity, normal sleep.
  • Conservative therapy.

Recommended Diet for Preventing Hemorrhoids from Flaring

The diet helps to normalize bowel movements and reduce the effects of irritating foods.
Diet tips for hemorrhoids in remission and exacerbation phases:

  • Split frequent meals.
  • Eat fiber rich foods, bananas, broccoli, cabbage, apricots and plums.
  • Eat cereals daily (oats, wheat, buckwheat).
  • Drink naturally cloudy juices such as peach or plum juice. Drink enough fluids to avoid dehydration.
  • Eat baked apples.
  • Eat enough lactic acid from dairy products.
  • Eat boiled foods, fish and meat.

Foods to avoid for hemorrhoids:

  • Smoked, spicy and fried foods;
  • canned foods and hot spices,
  • potato and patsa dishes.

Your diet doctor can help make sure your diet plan is the right one for you as some foods can be indicative for some may be contraindicative for others.

Physical Activity

It should be kept in mind that one of the main causes for hemorrhoids is hypodynamia, lack of physical activity and sedentary life-style.
So, to avoid flare-ups the patient should:

  • Try always to be on the move. Consider walking, running and swimming.
  • Make sure to get up and move more often.
  • Do therapeutic gymnastics.
  • Do not sit too long in the toilet. Wash your anal area with water and soup after bowel movements.

Also consider cold water therapy. Avoid smoking and alcohol as this is what usually cause flare-ups.

Conservative Treatment

Recurrence of hemorrhoids requires conservative treatment which is determined only by a doctor. It includes medications that treat abnormal bleeding, pain and inflammation. Medication and dosage are prescribed only by a doctor.
Additional remedies:

  • rising douche a few times daily;
  • herbal baths;
  • blood stopping and analgesic ointments and suppositories.

The suggested methods help strengthen the walls of the vessels, normalize lymph flow and stimulate blood flow in the venous bad.
If the symptoms don’t improve, surgical treatment should be considered.
